Louis Dall’Ava, Stage Director and bass-baritone, has performed 24 principal G&S roles. His extensive repertoire includes, Pooh-Bah (The Mikado), the Pirate King (The Pirates of Penzance), and Dick Deadeye (H.M.S. Pinafore). Pooh-Bah with Mobile Opera and Sorg Opera. Directing credits include: The Theatre at Monmouth (ME), Opera Naples (FL), Opera Northeast. IN addition he has performed the role of Charles and the Comte de Chagny on three international tours of The Phantom of the Opera, Luther Billis (South Pacific), Olin Britt (The Music Man), and Alfred Doolittle (My Fair Lady).

First performed at the Savoy Opera House in London in 1885, the Mikado is one of the most frequently played musical theatre pieces in history.

The location is a fictitious Japanese town full of colorful characters –The story includes 3 little maids from school, a wandering minstrel, a hilariously corrupt public official, and a Lord High Executioner who may have a list of potential victims but is too tenderhearted to actually perform his duties. Beautiful school girl Yum-Yum loves the romantic minstrel Nanki-Poo but is engaged to Ko-Ko the executioner.
